Facebook Live Setup

  1. 1Open Facebook Live Producer.
  2. 2Choose “Streaming Software” as the video source.
  3. 3Facebook will display your Server URL and Stream Key.
  4. 4Copy both values.
  5. 5Return to Speak Live Prompt and paste them into the Facebook connection fields.
  6. 6Save the connection.

Facebook Live Producer works best on a second device. On an iPhone, open this address on a computer, tablet, or second device, then copy the Server URL and Stream Key into Speak Live Prompt.
Having trouble opening Live Producer?

Open Facebook normally, choose Live Video, then select Streaming Software. (Request Desktop Website in Safari is a secondary option.)

Your Facebook stream key may change depending on how your Live is created. Always confirm the current key before starting a broadcast unless you are using a persistent stream key.
Treat your stream key like a password. Do not share it publicly. Speak Live Prompt masks your saved key and never displays it again after saving.

Instagram Live Setup

  1. 1Instagram Live streaming-software access varies by account. Open Instagram Live setup (Live Producer) on a second device or browser when available.
  2. 2Start creating a live broadcast using streaming software.
  3. 3Instagram will display your Stream URL (Server URL) and Stream Key.
  4. 4Copy both values.
  5. 5Return to Speak Live Prompt and paste them into the Instagram connection fields.
  6. 6Save the connection.
Open Instagram Live Setup

Meta does not provide a permanent deep link for Instagram Live setup. Tap the button to open Instagram, then create a new Live and look for the “Streaming software” / “Live Producer” option if your account has access.

Instagram stream keys are session-specific. Copy a fresh Server URL and Stream Key for each broadcast.
Treat your stream key like a password. Do not share it publicly. Speak Live Prompt masks your saved key and never displays it again after saving.

Dual Live Setup & Workflow

Important: Starting Dual Live in Speak Live Prompt sends your video feed to Facebook and Instagram. You may still need to press Go Live inside each platform’s Producer screen to publish the broadcast to your audience.
Before Going Live
1Open Facebook Live Producer and prepare your Facebook Live.
2Open Instagram Live Producer / Live Video and select the option to go live using streaming software.
3Copy the current Facebook and Instagram Stream URL and Stream Key into the matching Speak Live Prompt connection fields.
4Complete the Facebook and Instagram post details, including title/description where applicable.
5Open or select your teleprompter script in Speak Live Prompt, or continue without a script using the impromptu option.
Starting Dual Live
1In Speak Live Prompt, select Dual Live.
2Start the Dual Live connection (Connect Dual Live).
3Wait until Facebook Live Producer and Instagram Live Producer both display the incoming video preview (Waiting for Producer → Feed Connected).
4Once the preview is visible, press Go Live inside Facebook Live Producer.
5Press Go Live inside Instagram Live Producer.
6Confirm that Speak Live Prompt shows both Facebook LIVE and Instagram LIVE.
During the Live
1Keep using the Speak Live Prompt teleprompter while broadcasting to both platforms.
2If both Facebook and Instagram show LIVE inside Speak Live Prompt, the dual stream connection is active.
Ending the Live
1End/stop the live broadcast in Facebook Live Producer.
2End/stop the live broadcast in Instagram Live Producer.
3Return to Speak Live Prompt and stop/disconnect the Facebook and Instagram streams (End Live → Verify Disconnect).
4Verify that neither platform still shows an active Live connection before closing the session.
Before leaving: Make sure your Facebook and Instagram broadcasts have ended and both connections are disconnected.
Instagram Stream Key Reminder: Instagram may issue a new or temporary stream key for different Live sessions. If Instagram does not connect or shows a setup/connection error, return to Instagram Live Producer, copy the current Stream URL and Stream Key, and enter them again in Speak Live Prompt. Speak Live Prompt will not overwrite a saved Instagram key unless you enter a new one.

Using Dual Live on iPad

Split View on iPad helps you get the most out of Dual Live by keeping Speak Live Prompt visible on one side of the screen while Facebook or Instagram controls stay on the other. This lets you:

  • • Keep Speak Live Prompt visible at all times
  • • Monitor Facebook & Instagram status
  • • Access platform-side controls (e.g. Go Live)
  • • Continue reading the teleprompter
  • • Avoid repeatedly switching between apps/pages

A larger screen makes it easier to keep Speak Live Prompt visible while accessing Facebook or Instagram controls. iPad and Android tablets both work well with split-screen or multi-window features.

  1. 1Open Speak Live Prompt in Safari.
  2. 2Open Facebook or Instagram in another Safari window or app as needed.
  3. 3Use iPad Split View or Stage Manager so Speak Live Prompt stays on one side of the screen.
  4. 4Keep the Speak Live Prompt teleprompter visible while managing the live platform on the other side.
  5. 5Return focus to Speak Live Prompt whenever you need to control the teleprompter or Dual Live session.

Tablet split-screen is recommended — not required. Speak Live Prompt also works on phones and computers. A tablet simply makes it easier to keep the teleprompter and live-platform controls visible at the same time.

Troubleshooting

Video preview appears in Producer but I am not live yet — This is normal. Once Speak Live Prompt sends the stream and the preview appears, press Go Live in the Facebook or Instagram Producer screen.
Facebook connects but Instagram does not — Verify that Instagram Live Producer is open and enter the current Instagram Stream URL and Stream Key again.
Instagram worked previously but will not connect now — Retrieve a fresh/current Stream URL and Stream Key from Instagram Live Producer and try again.
Both previews appear but only one platform is live — Check the Producer screen for the platform that is not live and make sure its Go Live button has been pressed.
I want to go live without a teleprompter script — You can continue without a script. A script is not required to start an individual or Dual Live broadcast.
Still stuck? Update your Stream Key (keys can expire per session), allow camera and microphone permissions in your browser, and open “Advanced Diagnostics” in the live screen for connection status.
